Brand strategy - why it is so important

Author -  Labyrinth Solutions

A simple definition of brand strategy is: “Uniquely positioning a product (or company) to make it the most compelling, and appealing it can be to its existing and prospective customers”.

As web strategists, it’s highly important that our work here at Labyrinth builds and enhances the branding strategy of the client. If it’s not clearly defined then the ability to achieve worthwhile results from any form of marketing  is severely limited.

So, how strong is your brand strategy? Ask yourselves the following questions:

  1. Do you have a strategic marketing plan?
  2. Do you have a strong and recognisable external brand easily identifiable by your target audience?
  3. Do you have strong internal branding i.e. is there a strong culture within the company amongst the management and staff?
  4. What is your unique selling point (USP)? In actual fact, it doesn’t have to be unique, just something your competitors aren’t saying about themselves or their products yet.
  5. Have you tested out whether your target audience clearly understands the marketing messages you are putting out, and is their take on it what you want it to be?
  6. Do you have a clear position in the market place?
  7. Do you receive, and just as imprtantly act upon customer feedback?
  8. Do you have strategies in place to handle negative opinion of either the company or the products?
  9. Does your company have brand guidelines to ensure consistency across all forms of marketing?
  10. Do you actively promote your company, and do you do it regularly?

If you’ve found that the above questions show some gaps in your brand strategy then we’d strongly recommend talking to a branding specialist. If you already know one, then chat to them. If not, contact us. We know what we're talking about!

We’ll help you clarify your thinking and put you in touch with a brand strategist  appropriate to your industry and your particular needs. Once the brand strategy has been developed or at least defined, we can then  work further with you to generate some serious marketing results, translating into:

  • Greater awareness within the market place of who you are and what you offer
  • Better client retention
  • New clients
  • More business
